Our Foundation's current project is the construction of a Vietnamese Buddhist Temple in Simontornya, Tolna County

Our Foundation's current project is the construction of a Vietnamese Buddhist Temple in Simontornya, Tolna County. The building is being established south from the Vietnam-connected Fried Castle Hotel**** and Restaurant on the hill Mózsa since 2011 when a marble statue of Buddha was set up. This area fits excellently in with the basic principles of Feng shui: the building is located on the top of a small hill and has a wonderful panoramic view over the Sió-Canal and the nearby Fishponds. All the parts and decorative elements of the sanctuary are being made by hand in Vietnam.

Vietnami Buddhista Szentély

This is the first sanctuary in Hungary that represents the Vietnamese line of Buddhism. Several stupas and temples have been constructed in Hungary the past few years, however, they do not represent the Vietnamese Buddhist culture. Buddhism is a philosophy and practice-based ideology and religion that dates back to the 6th century B.C., to the era of Gautama Buddha. He is known as the historical Buddha as he was trying to share his experience with his followers so that they can reach the state of nirvana and can quit their perpetual circle of rebirth and suffering.

There are three main branches of Buddhism worldwide (Theravada, Mahayana, and Vajrayana) from which in Vietnam the Mahayana is the commonly spread one. Although there are several variations of Buddhism, the foundations of the religion are the three jewels everywhere:

      • Buddha, the highest spiritual potential
      • Dharma, the teachings of Buddha
      • Sangha, the community of those who have gained enlightenment, who may help a practicing Buddhist to do the same

The specific elements of the sanctuary, such as the traditionally decorated roof, the fence, the stone lotus lamp, the Buddha statue made of copper and the carved dragon decoration elements for the stairs are currently being made in Vietnam by high-skilled sculptors and artists in order to eventually form an authentic Vietnamese monument.

The construction is based on charitable purposes, the temple will await every visitor free of charge. Its aim is to acquaint everyone with the Vietnamese religious and cultural values, as well as to serve as a location for Buddhist practitioners to strengthen their faith. In addition, it will be also considered as a special tourist attraction and artistic monument.

For this project, we are still accepting donations. Those who offer a significant amount will receive a small Buddha statue, decorated with their names, placed in the area of the temple. Please support us to help the realization of an exceptional monument!
